Fifth Grade Band

The Fifth Grade Band program in Addison District 4 is open to any student enrolled in the fifth grade at Army Trail, Fullerton, Lake Park, Lincoln, Stone, and Wesley Elementary Schools. Instruction is available for students interested in flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion. Each band student receives 2 small group lessons a week, during the school day, scheduled on a rotating basis. Lessons cover the basics of instrumental music, including proper care and maintenance of the instrument, basic tone production, and note reading--the framework they will continue to build on once they get to the junior high.

In addition to lessons during the school day, the Fifth Grade Band has two public performances during the year (one in December, and one in May) and three afterschool rehearsals prior to each concert.
