3-D Space Shape & Form Balance

-Students will create a 3-dimensional object that is visually as well as physically balanced. -Students will identify positive and negative space and organize form and shape within those spaces a to create a 3-D sculpture. -Students will organize form & take up real space -Students will select & use the qualities and functions of art and apply them to their 3-D piec of artwork. -Students will explore how functional pottery was used in other cultures. -Students will create a piece of functional pottery to communicate their own ideas. -Students will explore and learn how to create a piece of pottery using slab & coil techniques. -Students will use the slip and score method of attaching pieces of clay together. |

-Students will be able to identify Color schemes:Primary, Secondary, Warm, Cool colors, complementary colors, tints and shades -Students will learn in 7th grade, intermediate colors, and split-complementary, analogous color schemes. -Students will be able to recognize and apply color contrast to a composition. -Students will be able create balance through color placement and repetition. -Students will be able to recognize and apply mixing techniques used to create color schemes. -Students will be able to use appropriate clean-up techniques related to the color unit. |
