Lake Park students enjoyed an afternoon spent with visitors from Alden Valley and the DuPage Convalescent Center who came to participate in a special program planned for American Education Week. Some classroom teachers invited their own parents and relatives to come to spend time with the students, as well.
Each visitor was 'assigned' to a classroom where students had the opportunity to ask them a wide variety of questions including, "What was school like when you were a child?" , "What are some of the biggest changes in the world since you were a student?" and "Did you ever own a pet?" Students and their visitors played bingo, shared snacks and spent time getting to know each other.
