Army Trail participates in Chalk, Talk Walk

Army Trail Elementary held their first "Chalk, Talk, Walk" event to promote summer reading.  Students designed a book cover from their favorite book and sketched it on the sidewalk. This was the "Chalk, Talk" part of the activity.  Then, in the afternoon, classes went outside to tour all the chalk drawings-the "Walk" part of the activity.  While students admired the artwork, they made a list of the books they would like to read based on the sidewalk drawings.  At the end of the day, the students turned in their lists to their teachers and from there, a summer reading list will be compiled.  The final list will be sent home with the students and a copy of the summer reading list will also be available at the Addison Public Library.
