Stone 2nd Graders enjoy reading party

Stone School students are participating in the Illinois Monarch Award program, a book award program sponsored
by the Illinois School Library Media Association which promotes reading for enjoyment. Staff members encourage students to read books which are on the Monarch Award list and plan class activities that correspond to the books. Fancy Nancy, written by Jane O'Connor, inspired the 2nd grade staff to throw a party where students dressed in
their finest, donned tiaras and top hats and then listened to Mrs. Sather read Fancy Nancy before enjoying a fancy parfait treat.
