Tiger Stripes Pumpkin Contest
October, 2008
For their first Tiger Stripes celebration of the school year, Stone classrooms turned on their creativity to come up some award winning pumpkin designs. Each classroom decorated a pumpkin and then students had the opportunity to vote with pennies for their favorite pumpkin. 'Nemo', created by Ms. Brechin's 3rd grade class and 'Mr. Chicago Champion', created by Ms. Purcell's 4th grade class were co-winners.

Tiger Stripes is Stone School's version of the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) program that has been implemented at all of the District 4 schools. A system that clearly defines expected behaviors and then celebrates the good behavior that follows, PBIS was successfully piloted at Indian Trail Junior High last year, and is now in place in the district's elementary schools.
