Attendance:
- It is
extremely important that your child attend school each and every day that
he/she is well. All future learning is based on the foundation that he/she
is developing now.
- If
your child is to be absent, please use the “CALL IN” number listed below:

- This
number is available 24 hours a day.
- Call
each and every day your child is out of school. Please state your child's
name, AM or PM, child's teacher, and reason for absence.
Emergency
Numbers:
- If you
have a change of home, work, or cell phone number, please inform the
office. Let the office know if you have a change in your emergency contact
person. This will aid the office in contacting you in the event of an
emergency.
Busing:
- Parents
of Kindergarten, PEP and EC students are expected to be at the bus stop.
It is your responsibility to be there at the pick-up and drop-off times.
- The
first day your child attends school, he/she will receive a personalized,
color coded bus tag. This needs to be attached to your child's book
bag/backpack. This needs to come to school daily.
- There
is to be one address or schedule for pick-up and one address for drop off.
- If you
select the busing service, it needs to be every day of the week.
- Bus
changes will be made only for moves or a new baby sitter address. This
will be limited in number. For safety reasons, a change could take five to
ten days to arrange. During that time, parents will be responsible for
transporting their child to and from school.
- Please
reinforce proper behavior on the bus with your child. Discuss the bus
rules listed in the District 4's handbook. Failure to follow the rules may
result in the loss of bus privileges.
Parking:
- Drive
slowly in the parking lot. Be aware of children crossing the lot.
- Take
the hand of young children who could dart in front of cars or buses.
- Bus
loading is in the FRONT and BACK of the school.
- Honor
the NO PARKING ZONES. They are for either District 4 buses or the private
day care buses.
- When
special events are occurring during the day, please observe all parking
signs.
Early
Dismissals:
- Early
dismissals should be limited and used only when absolutely necessary.
- Please
send a note to your teacher/office.
- You
will be asked to produce photo identification when picking up your child.
This requirement is for your child's safety.
- If you
are unable to pick up your child, please call the Ardmore office. Please
inform them the name of the person who will be picking up the child. Their
name must be on the emergency card. In addition, they must have photo
identification that can be copied.
Building
Security/Visiting:
- To
ensure a safe environment for children and staff, all doors are locked.
- Please
enter Ardmore school by the front door only. Use the buzzer to the right
of the outside doors. The office will release the lock. Upon entering
Ardmore school, visitors must report to the office. Visitors will be
required to sign in and wear a “visitors” pass.
- For
your child's safety, no adult will be able to take a child from the bus
line without first signing the child out in the office.
Medicine/Illness:
- A
Medication Permission Form must be filled out by your doctor in order for
your child to receive any medication at school.
- An
adult MUST bring the medication with the completed form to the office. Do
not sent the medication with your child or on the bus.
- All
medication is to be kept in the office and administered by the health aide
or secretary.
- Do not
send any cough drops or syrup.
- After
a fever (99.6 or higher), your child needs to stay at home at least 24
hours once the temperature is back to normal.
Picture/Videos:
- Throughout
the year, staff, parents, and possibly other media sources may take
pictures of your child. If you rather that we did not take pictures of
your child please contact the office within ten days of enrollment. The
request for not having pictures taken needs to be written and dated,
complete with your child's name, and signed by you.
Communication:
- Please
check your child's backpack and folders daily. A newsletter will be sent
every other week with important dates and information regarding Ardmore
Activities.
- Talk
with your child about not making any threats or mean comments, even for
fun. Violence or threats of violence will and cannot be tolerated, even in
young children.
Other:
- If
you ever have any questions or concerns, please contact your teacher or
the school office.
- Students
are expected to dress appropriately for school. Dress for the weather,
especially in the winter months.
School
Tips:
- A
smile and a good breakfast/lunch can do wonders to help your have a
productive day.
- Emphasize
prompt arrival to school and regular attendance.
- Let
your child know you are interested in his school experiences by asking how
his day went and by displaying schoolwork and art projects in your home.
- Check
your child's backpack daily and read any teacher's notes or handouts from
school.
- Mistakes
will be made. Try not to dwell on them and praise accomplishments.
Building a positive self-concept and a good attitude toward school is
important.

to your child!
Bus
Rules:
- To
ensure your child's safety and all those on board, please review
these rules often with your child
- Obey
the bus driver.
- Stay
in my seat at all times, unless getting on or off the bus.
- Will
not shout, fight, spit, kneel on the seat, or put hands out of the window.
- Will
not eat on the bus (including candy or gum).
- Will
not annoy others.
- Will
not bring animals or insects on the bus.
- I
understand that the rules are to keep me safe and if I do not consistently
follow the rules I could lose my privilege of riding the bus.

(1) Your child needs to have the bus tag on his/her backpack
each and every day
