Reading Center

The reading center serves as a place where children come to enjoy the wonderful world of literature. We read stories everyday to the children. Reading expands their imaginations and helps them gain new information. Reading helps them expand their vocabularies. They develop a real love for books which is one of the most powerful incentives for them to become life-long readers and learners.

Parents can help to ensure a love of reading by being readers themselves. By modeling reading, you are showing your children that it is a very important activity. When you read a book with your children, you are showing them you want to share this very important activity with them. Books are available from many places. Your children bring one home from school everyday for you to read together. The best source for obtaining books is from the Addison Public Library. Make trips to the library part of your weekly routine. Click on the link below to check out their story times as well!
