Fun with Apples

In using the book by Dr. Suess, "Ten Apples Up On Top", the children use the apple punch to glue 10 red, green or yellow paper apples on top of a picture of their own heads.

As an math activity, the children will count to 10 and pattern the red, yellow and green apple cut outs. The children may also graph the apples that they have brought to class.

As an art activity, the children will use paints to create apple print pictures, with apples previously cut by the teacher.

As a science activity, the children will plant apple seeds, make applesauce and find the star in the middle of the apple.

As a language arts activity, the children will write an experience chart about making applesauce or what they have learned about apples.
