Army Trail School PTA

Room Parties

Time is allotted by the school district for classroom parties twice during the school year – Halloween and the last day of school before the holiday break in December.

During this specially allotted time, classrooms are transformed by Room Parent and Room Party Parent volunteers into a party room. It is not the teacher's responsibility to provide a party, it is a PTA sponsored function. That is why parent volunteers from each classroom are very important.

On Halloween, the students change into their costumes after lunch and parade over to the District 4 offices (across the school's East parking lot). The Parents and Grandparents visit the parade by standing in the parking lot to view the children while they parade, It is a good time to take photos of the children! The Room parent volunteers remain in the classroom to set up for the parties during the parade.

Once the parade returns to Army Trail, the students return to their respective classrooms for their parties.

The Room Party chairperson each year will communicate the Room party agenda to all parent volunteers in advance of the Room party day. The room Party Chairperson will hold a meeting prior to the Room Parties to review their plan with the volunteers.

During the Room parties, Parents that did not sign up to volunteer for this event will not be permitted in the hallways at school unless it has been approved by the school Principal in advance. If you want to spend time with your child during the parties, volunteer to be a Room Party helper!

Each year the plans for the Room parties change. The Chairperson will develop a plan and communicate the plan to parents and faculty.

There is an annual Room party fee per student that is requested at the beginning of each school year. The Chairperson is responsible for this endeavor of getting the Room party forms signed and returned and fees paid.

The second Room Party of the school year is the pre-holiday break party. This is held on the last day of school before the holiday break in December.

The PTA generally sponsors a special visit from Santa, a special gift to the children and treats.

The complete details of this holiday party are decided annually by the Chairperson and the Board.
