Stone School Office

All visitors are required to check in at the office and to wear a visitor's badge.

School Day
School starts at 8:50 am each day and ends at 3:15 pm. . Lunch/Recess begins at 11:50 pm and concludes at 12:35 pm.

All students are encouraged attending school everyday. Although school attendance is very important, it is more important to keep your child home when he/she is ill. If your child has a fever, he/she needs to be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. In the event that a child is too ill to attend school, please phone the school and report your child's absence. Please give your child's name, the grade level, teacher's name and the date of the absence.

Buses
Buses arrive at the school no earlier 8:35 am. Students should always follow all the bus safety rules. Students may not ride any bus other than the one they are assigned. It is assumed that the student will be riding the bus each day unless a note from a parent states otherwise.

Morning Arrival

Riders and Walkers arrive at the school no earlier than 8:35 am. Playground Supervisors arrive at 8:35 am. Please be aware that if your child arrives before 8:35 am, they will be unsupervised.  When children arrive at school, they are to line-up at their designated lines on the playground. At the 8:45 bell, students are dismissed to the classrooms. All students are expected to be in the building when school starts at 8:50 am. On morning when there is inclement weather, children will go into the building.

Lunch Recess

Students in grades 1-5 have daily, outdoor recess unless it is raining, the wind chill is below 10 (ten) degrees Fahrenheit, or due to other inclement weather conditions. Please dress your child (ren) so that they are prepared to go outside. If/when it snows, students who wear snow pants and boots will be allowed to play in the snow during recess time.

Hot Lunch/Milk

Hot lunch is available everyday. Arbor Management, Inc. will be providing the lunch service at Stone School.

Lunch $2.05

If you are purchasing an individual lunch, please put $2.05 in an envelope marked with the child's name, grade, and teacher. We are unable to make change.

You may purchase a Meal Ticket in units of five ($10.25), ten ($20.50), fifteen ($30.75) and twenty ($41.00) which are usable throughout the school year.

Milk Tickets may be purchased only in units of twenty ($11.00) and are also good throughout the school year.

All checks should be made payable to Addison School District #4.

Birthdays

Student birthdays and half birthdays are an exciting day at Stone. Students get to hear their names during the morning announcements, as well as receive a birthday pencil from the office. Parents wishing to bring birthday treats for their children's birthday should keep in mind that treats should be store bought (due to allergies).

Please remember that birthday invitations should not be passed out at school. Please use the U.S. Mail or hand deliver these invitations to student's houses. Thank you for your help.

Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures

Parents may only use the north side of Stone Avenue for picking-up and dropping-off students. The Addison Police will enforce any other area marked “No Parking”. Also, if you choose to get out of the car and walk your child to class or pick them after class, you will need to find legal parking around the school. As always, we ask that only parents who have business to address inside the school to use the parking lot, as our spaces are limited.
