About Us

Addison School District 4 is an elementary school district located in DuPage County, 18 miles west of downtown Chicago. The nine schools within the district educate over 3,900 students from Early Childhood to 8th grade.

District 4 serves Addison, as well as parts of Wood Dale, Lombard, Villa Park, Bensenville, and Itasca.

Students in the District come from a wide variety of backgrounds. There are approximately 900 students each year in the Bilingual and English as a Second Language program. Students speaking over 20 different languages contribute to a richly diverse community of learners. Beginning in 2017-2018, a two-way dual language program is being phased in on a limited basis.

District 4’s Board of Education, administration and staff are dedicated to providing the best possible education to all students.

District 4's kindergarten is a full-day program. Early Childhood, Preschool 4 All, and Headstart classes are held at the Addison Early Learning Center. One preschool class is also housed at Army Trail School.
