Mental Health Resources

Addison School District 4 is proud to announce the launch of the ASD4 CARES Program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at improving access to mental health resources for students and families in our community. This program, in partnership with ReferralGPS https://referralgps.com/asd4cares is designed to bridge the gap between those in need and the critical services that can support their well-being and success.

The Addison School District 4 CARES Program stands for Community, Advocacy, Resilience, Engagement, and Support—values that form the foundation of this initiative. Leveraging the expertise of ReferralGPS, which facilitates a similar model in multiple districts across Illinois, the program ensures that students and families receive timely, effective, and equitable care.

The ASD4 CARES Program offers students and families the ability to access treatment without long waitlists or financial barriers. With 8 initial visits provided free of charge—and the possibility to continue care based on funding and clinical need—this initiative ensures that everyone has a fair chance at receiving the support they deserve.

Many families seek help for challenges such as depression, anxiety, and parenting strategies, and the CARES Program is designed to meet these needs with tailored, evidence-based solutions.

Program Highlights

· Enhanced Access to Care: Leveraging technology and community partnerships, the program ensures seamless connections to mental health resources, so no one falls through the cracks.

· Tailored Support Services: From individual therapy for depression and anxiety to parenting strategies and psychiatric medication management, the program provides a range of evidence-based solutions designed to meet unique needs.

· Breaking Down Barriers: Financial, logistical, and systemic challenges that often prevent families from seeking care are eliminated.

· Community Engagement: Collaboration with schools, community leaders, and mental health providers ensures resources are accessible, effective, and aligned with the needs of the community.

“The CARES Program is an essential step toward building a supportive environment where every student can thrive. By working with community partners, we are breaking down barriers to care and ensuring that families in our district receive the resources they need. This program exemplifies our dedication to student success and well-being.”

said Superintendent Nick Sutton of Addison School District 4.

Dear Addison School District 4 Families,

We are committed to creating a culture of well-being of students, staff, parents, and community. In an effort to continuously support this commitment, the district has entered an agreement with ReferralGPS.

ReferralGPS is a web-based service focused on assisting our students, staff, and community in finding local mental-health and substance use related treatment. The service compliments the districts existing systems of support as a tool for student service teams and families to connect with treatment. Along with a searchable database of treatment options, ReferralGPS provides Care Navigation to assist families in triage, appointment setting, and follow up care.

School district staff and families may access ReferralGPS in two ways:

  1. Contact Student Services (social workers, psychologists, counselors) to seek our treatment options.
  2. Visit this link at https://referralgps.com//find-help/ASD4 to search for treatment resources or connect with a Care Navigator anonymously.

ReferralGPS takes into account all types of private and public insurance including PPO, HMO, Medicaid, Medicare, and families who are uninsured or underinsured. The platform also filters by age, gender, zip code, and special requests.

ReferralGPS is available for use by district students, staff, and families at no cost. All information entered on the ReferralGPS tool is completely confidential and securely stored.

Please note, this service is an optional resource available by choice and is not mandatory in any way. If you are interested in seeking counseling-related services at this time, please consider reaching out to the Student Services team or visiting https://referralgps.com//find-help/ASD4

Sincerely,

Dr. Nick Sutton

Superintendent

Call4Calm Emotional Stress service available
Call4Calm, línea de texto de apoyo emocional gratuita

The Illinois Department of Human Services’ Mental Health Division has launched a free-of-charge emotional support text line, Call4Calm, for Illinois residents experiencing stress and mental health issues related to COVID-19.   Individuals who would like to speak with a mental health professional can text “TALK” to 5-5-2-0-2-0, or for Spanish, “HABLAR” to the same number: 5-5-2-0-2-0. Call4Calm is free to use, and individuals will remain anonymous. You will then receive a text, asking for your first name and zip code to connect you with a health care professional in your area. Once a resident sends a text to the hotline, within 24 hours they will receive a call from a counselor employed by a local community mental health center to provide support.

Individuals can also text 5-5-2-0-2-0, with key words such as “unemployment” or “food” or “shelter” and will receive information on how to navigate and access supports and services.
